Jacob deGrom's 2018 is the most dominant, most incredible year of pitching that I've ever witnessed by anyone playing for the Mets during my 35 years watching them play baseball.
Wednesday night at Citi Field, in what will be his final start of a magical season, he fittingly tossed eight scoreless innings, allowed just two hits, walked no one and struck out 10.
He ends his season with a major league-best 1.70 ERA, which is the sixth-lowest qualifying total since 1969. In addition, he struck out 269 batters and walked just 46 in 217 innings.
