LOS ANGELES — Terry Collins won’t view Game 5 of the NLDS against the Dodgers as a referendum on the Mets’ season.
“This, to me, is gravy,” Collins said Wednesday. “We’re going to go out and play real hard. But they can’t take away what these guys accomplished all year long. You can’t take that away from them no matter if we lose [Thursday] night or we come out on top.”
The manager’s comment was in response to a question about what it felt like to have the season boil down to a win-or-lose game.
“I’ve looked at it this way: Obviously, this is where you want to get,” Collins said.
