DETROIT — If life existed as a cartoon, then smoke would have been coming out of Sandy Alderson’s ears late Saturday night as he stomped into and then around the Mets’ clubhouse following the team’s latest painful loss, 6-5 to the Tigers at Comerica Park.
Alderson met with his manager, Terry Collins, while the media waited for entry.
Then Collins met with the media. Then Alderson went back into Collins’ office to talk some more. Just as when Robert De Niro’s character chased down the misbehaving member of his crew in “Heat,” it appeared Alderson just couldn’t let it go.
