PORT ST. LUCIE — One year ago during the Mets intrasquad game, Noah Syndergaard got his lunch tossed into the garbage by Bobby Parnell and a stern talking-to by David Wright because he was not on the bench with his teammates watching the game.
Syndergaard, to his credit, took that day to heart, changed his approach and made himself a better teammate, a better Met.
The big right-hander already had all that “ridiculous’’ talent.
Syndergaard, 23, became a pitching horse and by the time the World Series rolled around he was unstoppable — so naturally, he rode into camp Tuesday at Tradition Field, the day of this year’s intrasquad game, on a horse, alongside another Met cowboy, Yoenis Cespedes.
