The legend of Thor continues to grow. As if it wasn’t enough he was embarrassing the Phillies’ hitters, throwing 7.1 shutout innings, Noah Syndergaard also added some thunder with his bat Wednesday.
The 22-year-old righthander hit his first career home run, a long ball to deep left-center field, as he had three hits and struck out six as the Mets beat up the Phillies 7-0 in the matinee series finale at Citi Field.
The Mets (27-21) completed their second, three-game series sweep of the struggling Phillies (19-30) with the win.
