You gotta admit. The Mets make the world an interesting place these days.
Shortly after the stunning announcement that bag-‘o’-bricks brained former closer Jenrry Mejia was banned for 162 games by Major League Baseball for a second PED transgression, rookie Noah Syndergaard thrust all the attention squarely back on the Mets’ pennant-race chase.
Syndergaard was perfect through six innings, but his quest to join Johan Santana as the only Mets to pitch no-hitters died in the seventh. But Syndergaard settled for eight masterful, three-hit, shutout innings and the Mets claimed a 4-0 victory over the Padres at Citi Field Tuesday.
