MIAMI -- Noah Syndergaard executed some timely breaking pitches to get big groundouts and Amed Rosario delivered a couple of key hits from the nine spot to help earn the Mets a 4-2 victory over the Marlins in the series opener on Monday night at Marlins Park.
Arriving in Miami early in the morning after a 12-inning win at the Nationals on Sunday night, the Mets did what needed to be done and have now won six in a row. Syndergaard allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out five in six innings.
A four-pitch walk to Todd Frazier opened the second inning for the Mets, and started a two-run frame during which Adrian Gonzalez had an RBI single.
