Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard dialed his fastball up to 101 MPH while tossing two perfect innings against the Astros during his Spring Training debut on Monday afternoon.
Syndergaard reached 100 MPH on his first four pitches of the first inning. He retired George Springer on a fly out to left field, got Josh Reddick to ground out to second base, and then hit 101 MPH twice against Jose Altuve before striking him out looking with a 92 MPH offspeed pitch.
In the second inning, Syndergaard retired Carlos Correa on a soft liner to shortstop, struck out Marwin Gonzalez swinging on a 93 MPH slider, and got Brian McCann to fly out to center field on a 100 MPH fastball.
