Noah Syndergaard suddenly has a side job.
The Twitter enthusiast, who previously used a Dwight Schrute clip to express his anger over not being selected as a finalist in the NL Cy Young race, emerged online again Friday with a Ron Burgundy cameo to show how he felt about Bartolo Colon leaving the Mets for the NL East-rival Braves.
Syndergaard likely remembers Colon as his pitching mentor when the flame-throwing prospect made his debut with the Mets in 2015 at the age of 23. Colon, 43, was one of the Mets’ most reliable pitchers over the past three seasons, taking the mound every fifth day when injuries tore through the team’s young rotation and filling in as a reliever during the 2015 run to the World Series.
