Syndergaard fans five in next-to-last start

Fisher's havoc accounted for the only run against Syndergaard in six innings. The Mets' Opening Day starter, Syndergaard struck out five and walked none, allowing four hits. He'll make one final tune-up start Wednesday -- likely an abbreviated outing before the team breaks camp.

Astros starter Charlie Morton blanked the Mets over 4 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking two. Trailing by two runs thanks to a J.D. Davis solo homer, the Mets loaded the bases with no outs in the eighth inning, but Desmond Lindsay struck out, Ty Kelly lined out and Kevin Plawecki hit a ground ball back to pitcher Michael Freeman to end the Mets' best threat.
