Syndergaard dealing with bronchitis, aiming to be ready for Opening Day

New York Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard has been battling bronchitis during spring training but is still aiming to be ready for Opening Day.

"I'm trying to get over it, but it is what it is," Syndergaard told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo after giving up three runs and three hits in 3 1/3 innings in a start on Monday. "I just want to be ready for Opening Day."

Though Opening Day is three weeks away, Syndergaard said he felt fatigued in Monday's game. Asked if there was a correlation between that and the illness, he said, "Could be.
