Swarzak has resumed throwing, will head to St. Lucie on Wednesday

Mets RHP Anthony Swarzak threw a baseball on Sunday for the first time since suffering a left oblique strain and threw again on Monday, Mickey Callaway said on Monday.

Swarzak, who has been out since April 1, will head to Port St. Lucie on Wednesday to continue working his way back.

The 32-year-old Swarzak, who missed time during Spring Training due to a strained left calf, departed the second game against the Cardinals in the eighth inning due to the injury.

Swarzak said he felt the pain for a few pitches leading up to the point when he was forced out of the game.
