KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It took David Wright a dozen years in the majors to get to his first World Series and so far, it hasn’t been worth the wait.
The third baseman, whose error led to the game-winning run in Game 1 in the 14th inning on Tuesday night, was nowhere to be found again in the Mets 7-1 Game 2 loss, leaving them in an 0-2 hole against the Royals heading back to Citi Field for Game 3 on Friday.
If Wright is downtrodden about the ugly start to the Series, he didn’t show it.
