NEW YORK -- New York Mets left-hander Steven Matz is helping honor members of the military, the NYPD and the FDNY at Wednesday home games this season.
Matz has initiated a “TRU 32” ticket program. He will host 32 service members and first responders during Wednesday home games in April and May. The honorees will meet Matz before the game.
The idea came from Arizona Diamondbacks closer Brad Ziegler, who does a Pastime for Patriots ticket program.
“I really wanted to find a way to show my appreciation for all those who fight and risk their lives to protect our freedoms and keep us safe on a daily basis," Matz said.
