Steven Matz pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings in his final rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Monday.
The Ward Melville alum allowed just one hit, walked two and struck out four on 78 pitches against the Reading Fightin Phils.
Before his final rehab start Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said if all went well, Matz would "probably" rejoin the Mets' rotation in five or six days.
