The Mets’ talented lefty, who is just 26 and has been through his share of injuries, has learned much about pitching and his body. To that end, he is taking a more natural approach in 2017, and that could make the difference for someone who underwent surgery to remove a bone spur in his elbow in October after suffering shoulder fatigue during the season.
“I try to take all aspects of it, nutrition, strength conditioning and the baseball work,’’ Matz said Wednesday at Tradition Field.
