As spring training creeps to a close and with Opening Day right around the corner, MLB prediction season is nearly over. Less than a week away from the Mets taking on the Cardinals to start their season on Thursday, Sports Illustrated released their predictions.
The magazine forecasts the Mets to win 88 games, good enough for the first Wild Card spot, and a win over the Diamondbacks in the Wild Card game. They then predict the Mets to lose to the Nationals in the NLDS, who they have beating the Yankees in the World Series.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Mets will finish 12 games adrift the Nationals but 14 games better than the third-place Phillies.
