After last night’s embarrassing loss to the Dodgers, the veteran Mets called a team-only meeting. Whether or not that meeting will have any lasting impact is unknown, but it appeared to have an immediate effect on the team, as they were able to take the first game of their four-game series with the Diamondbacks, 3-2.
Christian Scott took the mound for the Mets and got off to a strong start, retiring the first three batters in order. D-Backs starter Zac Gallen gave up a leadoff single to Francisco Lindor and, after just six pitches, left the game with a tweaked hamstring.
