ATLANTA -- Yoenis Cespedes' struggles at the plate have not dissipated much, but the Mets continue plugging him in their lineup. They know he'll bust out of his slump eventually. And they also know he continues to come up with key hits in spite of it.
Cespedes hit a go-ahead RBI single through the right side of the infield in the 12th inning Friday, leading the Mets to a 5-3 win over the Braves at SunTrust Park. It was Cespedes' third go-ahead RBI in his last 12 games, despite a .200 average and 45 percent strikeout rate over that stretch.
