NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — On Tuesday, the New York Mets hosted an audition for a singer to perform the national anthem in August during the Subway Series.
As CBS2’s Emily Smith explained, some unique voices competed for a chance to shine.
From a Capella groups to Broadway style classics, from old to young, New Yorkers came by the hundreds to line up at Citifield for their chance to become a star.
“You can warm up your vocal chords and be famous, have a mansion, a whole bunch of rooms, bathrooms and hot tubs,” Julie McFadden, 8, said.
