Coming off one of the worst series they’ve played this season as they got swept in Seattle, the Mets (61-57) got a much-needed day off yesterday and are set to begin a three-game series against the A’s (50-69) tonight in Queens.

Despite that terrible weekend in Seattle, the Mets begin the day one game back of the Braves for the third Wild Card spot in the National League. And with the results all in from last night, they’re five games back of the Diamondbacks and Padres, both of whom are tied for the first Wild Card spot.
