The Mets came out on top of a pitcher’s duel in Miami, shutting out the Marlins 1-0.
Much like the last time they matched up against each other, Luis Severino and Roddery Muñoz traded zeros for much of the game. The first few innings featured very few baserunners for either team, but the Mets finally scratched out a run in the fourth. With one out, Pete Alonso laced a double over the head of Nick Gordon in left field. Mark Vientos was then hit by a pitch and Muñoz walked DJ Stewart to load the bases and create what was by far the best scoring opportunity of the game for either team.
