Seth Lugo comes up big in pen after his start was snowed out

Seth Lugo spent much of spring training prepping for the bullpen. Then he got a starting job. Until Monday’s snow effectively wiped out what should have been his start, pushing back Matt Harvey and pushing up Noah Syndergaard.

So apparently he should not get unaccustomed to that bullpen job yet.

“He’s going to be available in the pen. He’s a weapon in the pen and we’re going to use him until he may have to start again,” manager Mickey Callaway said after Lugo turned in an unhittable two-inning performance — out of the bullpen of course — in the Mets’ 2-0 victory over the Phillies Tuesday.
