Senga to start NLCS Game 1 for the Mets

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza says that Kodai Senga will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, per Laura Albanese.

In addition, Mendoza said that Sean Manaea will start Game 2 on Monday.

According to Albanese, Mendoza said Senga will pitch “three innings or so” as he continues to ramp up from his calf injury suffered on July 27. He doesn’t know who will take the bulk innings in Game 1 following Senga, but relief options David Peterson (who followed Senga in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Phillies), Tylor Megil and José Buttó are all available options.
