ALBANY, N.Y. -- U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Claire McCaskill have made what they're calling a "high-stakes" wager on the World Series.
Schumer, a New York Democrat, said Tuesday that if the Kansas City Royals beat the New York Mets in the Series, he has promised McCaskill he will tweet a photo of himself wearing a Royals T-shirt while riding a bicycle through New York City. He also will donate $100 to a Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City.
If McCaskill, a Missouri Democrat, loses the bet, she has promised to tweet a photo of a Mets flag on the flagpole outside her home and to donate $100 to efforts to rebuild a Queens church that burned down last winter.
