SEE IT: Mets' Torres wears new protective cap for pitchers

Reliever Alex Torres was outfitted with a new piece of equipment on Saturday that he debuted while earning the save in the Mets’ 5-4 win.

Torres wore a new padded halo - slightly different than the padded cap he donned for the Padres last season - that protects against head injuries caused by batted line drives back to the mound.
