I started this as a post about how the Mets bailed out Terry Collins’ mismanagement of the bullpen, specifically Alex Torres. I scrapped it. Mostly because my complaints would have been unfair. I started to go down that road, and then realized that I was in a bad part of town and I would have asked for directions out. I didn’t like that Torres was put in the Pedro Feliciano role of facing Chase Utley and Ryan Howard when he isn’t a lefty specialist and he’s better against righties. But with all the lefthanders in the Phillies lineup that inning, there was no way around Torres facing lefties.
