In a rare bit of good injury news around baseball today, Sean Manaea resumed playing catch earlier this week after being shut down with an oblique strain at the end of February. While it was reported by Anthony DiComo that his throwing progression has begun, it is presumed that he will still start the season on the Injured List.
With injuries to Manaea and Frankie Montas, the Mets’ pitching depth has been on full display this spring, with both Tylor Megill and Griffin Canning turning in good performances to hopefully win one of the open rotation slots.
