The New York Mets will continue their best-ever first homestand this week after beginning their home schedule with seven straight wins for the first time in club history. The Mets best home start prior to this season was back in 1985, when they won their first six games at Shea Stadium.
The Mets held on to defeat the Marlins, 7-6, Sunday. Matt Harvey got the win, improving to 3-0 this season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Harvey is only the second veteran (non-rookie) pitcher in the last 15 years to win his first three (or more) appearances of a season after not pitching in the major leagues the previous year.
