Thursday, the off day between Games 2 and 3 of the World Series, also will mark the five-year anniversary of Sandy Alderson being named the Mets’ general manager.
While his club worked out Friday in preparation for the World Series, Alderson spent an hour with The Post discussing his tenure.
On why he took the job:
“It was a combination of the personal and professional. My daughter lived in New York. I had gotten even closer to my dad after my mother passed away and included him in more of my baseball activities.
