Sandy Alderson still hesitant to declare Mets real deal

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson was at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center at Montclair State in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon promoting the release of the book, “Baseball Maverick: How Sandy Alderson Revolutionized Baseball and Revived the Mets.” It’s a title Alderson admits makes him “bristle” because the notion the Mets are revived feels a bit premature.

“I honestly do believe the Mets are resuscitated,” Alderson told a group of about 40 people. “We still may be lying on the floor, but we’re breathing.”

This was hours before the Mets would extend their winning streak to seven games with a 5-4 victory over the Marlins at Citi Field.
