Ryne Stanek has had a pretty remarkable career when it comes down to it, despite coming into the year with a rather pedestrian career 3.65 ERA.
Stanek, way back in 2018, was the face of a movement that took Tampa Bay Rays baseball—and baseball as a whole—by storm; the opener. In 2018 and 2019, Stanek would make 56 starts for the Rays despite throwing 66.1 and 55.2 innings respectively, before being dealt to the Marlins during the 2019 season. It put him all over the record books, including the longest streak of scoreless starts in MLB history with seven, earning the most no decisions in a season with 21, and having the most starts in MLB history without a win (he did not pick up a win at some point in the 2019 season).
