LOS ANGELES – Rusty Staub is back in New York following a “medical emergency” earlier this month, and the former Met is scheduled to be at Citi Field on Monday for Game 3 of the NL division series, a team source said.
Staub suffered a heart attack on a flight from Ireland to JFK airport last weekend, and his flight was diverted back to its original destination for further treatment.
A man named Stephen Marro, who has claimed to be a family friend of Staub’s, had started a GoFundMe page last week to raise money for Staub’s flight back to the States.
