KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Dodgers and Cubs couldn’t come up with a way to stop Daniel Murphy this October.
Now it’s the Royals’ turn, with Edinson Volquez on the mound for Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.
And while the right-hander said he wasn’t sure how he would attack Murphy — who will bring a streak of six straight postseason games with a homer into the Series — his pitching coach hinted the Royals won’t duck him.
“He’s having a tremendous postseason,” Royals pitching coach Dave Eiland said Monday before the team’s workout at Kauffman Stadium.
