KANSAS CITY -- Mets manager Terry Collins said the Royals remind him of a particular National League East rival.
"It's like when we play the Nationals. The athleticism is tough," Collins said before Game 1 of the World Series. "There's no real 'cloggers.' The catcher may be the only real base-clogger they've got. That athleticism can be tough for us.
"They're like the Nationals, for me. They can all run. They all have the potential to hit a homer. They play very good defense."
Of course, Washington had higher-end starting pitching this season, but also a far inferior bullpen.
