Jason Vargas tossed five scoreless innings on three-day's rest to help lead the Mets past the Braves, 4-1, on Wednesday night at SunTrust Park.

1) Pitching on three-day's rest for the third time in his career, Vargas (2-3) limited the Braves to two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. He was lifted after throwing 44 of his 65 pitches for strikes while matching his season-high for innings pitched in a start. He lowered his ERA from 10.62 to 8.53.
2) Adrian Gonzalez and Brandon Nimmo both singled, doubled and collected two RBIs apiece to account for the Mets' offense.
