Mets 20-year-old SS prospect Amed Rosario was named the organization's position Prospect of the Year by MLBPipeline.com.
"I think it was actually an excellent year. I got to do a lot of development, so just based off that I would call it an excellent year," Rosario said in September at Citi Field.
Rosario, who spent the year between High-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton, finished 2016 hitting .324 with 42 extra base hits in 120 games. A midseason All-Star with St. Lucie, he was named the organization's top prospect by MLB.com in July. Rosario also went 1-for-2 in this year's Futures Game in San Diego.
