After a successful rookie season, Hansel Robles is ready to make a bigger contribution to the Mets bullepn this year.
Robles got a four-out save in his first spring training appearance in the Mets' 3-1 victory over the Astros Saturday.
"He matured an incredible amount," pitching coach Dan Warthen told the Post's Mike Puma (March 5). "I don't know for years to come if he can't become a possible closer, if necessary. That's how good I think he has a chance to be."
Robles went 4-3 with a 3.67 ERA in 57 apperances last season.
