In the bottom of the ninth and the score tied, Mets RH reliever Carlos Torres threw a high fastball to O’s OF Henry Urrutia, who hit it the other way for a walk-off home run.
“It was exactly where we wanted,” Torres said of the pitch to Urrutia. “We called for a fastball up. I threw the fastball up. These guys, unfortunately, they’ve been seeing Syndergaard and deGrom, so my fastball up probably didn’t seem like their fastball up.”
Torres was charged with the two deciding runs during last Sunday’s loss to the Pirates.
