Robinson Cano’s recurring left quadriceps tightness hasn’t KO’d him quite yet.
A day after leaving a game in discomfort after running to first base, the Mets second baseman worked out at Citi Field on Thursday and informed manager Mickey Callaway his leg was feeling “OK.”
Cano was not available off the bench Thursday, but he will be reevaluated Friday.
Cano was playing Wednesday in his first game off the injured list when he felt the tightness. Adeiny Hechavarria, who replaced Cano on Wednesday, started at second base in Cano’s absence Thursday and went 2-for-4 with a run in the 7-3 victory over the Giants.
