The Mets have removed White Sox manager and Mets third baseman Robin Ventura from consideration for their managerial opening after he revealed he is not interested in managing, reports the New York Post.
"I'm not pursuing any of the openings," Ventura reportedly said in a text message.
As a player, Ventura spent three seasons of his 16-year MLB career with the Mets, hitting .260 with 77 home runs and 265 RBIs from 1999 to 2001. Overall, he hit .267 with 294 home runs and 1,182 RBIs from 1989 to 2004, spending 10 seasons with the White Sox.
