In his first start after returning from Triple-A, Robert Gsellman allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk, while striking out four batters in six innings while earning the win against the Phillies.
"I thought I was very aggressive tonight," he later said. "I was just throwing the ball where I wanted, just going off all my pitches down in the zone and I got ground balls that I liked -- weak contact."
Gsellman pitched five scoreless innings until the Phillies tagged him for three runs in the sixth. He gave up a two-run homer to Nick Williams, but worked out of further trouble.
