The New York Mets today announced that the club has recalled RHP Gerson Bautista from Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League and optioned RHP Hansel Robles to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Bautista will be available tonight vs. Washington. Bautista's first appearance will be his Major League debut.
Bautista, 22, has tossed 5.0 scoreless innings for Binghamton (AA) with 11 strikeouts over three games this year. He has allowed two hits and has not permitted a walk.
The 6-3, 195-pounder was acquired from Boston along with RHP Jamie Callahan and RHP Stephen Nogosek in exchange for RHP Addison Reed on July 31, 2017.
