NEW YORK -- Jose Reyes had 204 hits one season and won a batting title in another. The hits haven't come as frequently so far this year, but over the course of a 15-year Major League career, Reyes has had plenty of them.
The Mets' infielder got his 2,000th career hit Saturday, when he singled off Angels right-hander Alex Meyer in the first inning of his 1,663rd Major League game. Reyes is one of eight active Major League players with 2,000 hits.
Reyes had 1,300 hits before leaving the Mets as a free agent after the 2011 season.
