NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz reportedly has a mild shoulder strain and rotator cuff irritation.
Citing people familiar with the situation, Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball and WFAN reported that Matz’s exam and MRI on Monday in New York did not reveal any structural damage. The Mets have not said anything publicly since the doctor visit about Matz’s injury or whether the 25-year-old left-hander might be headed to the disabled list.
