Fox Sports midget Ken Rosenthal reported Friday that the Mets have agreed to re-sign reliever Fernando Salas. It will be for one year with terms undisclosed, pending a physical.
Salas pitched well after coming over to the Mets from the Angels at the end of August. In 17.1 innings over 17 games, he pitched to a 2.08 ERA with 19 strikeouts. Salas, who will turn 32 in May, has a 3.64 ERA over his seven-year career, averaging nearly a strikeout per inning.
