Report: Mets To Re-Sign Cespedes To 3-Year, $75-Million Deal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — It appears that the New York Mets will re-sign Yoenis Cespedes.

As CBS2’s Otis Livingston reported, it seemed like a long shot when the offseason began.

A source said that Cespedes was willing to take a 3 year deal for around $75-million to stay in Queens instead of a 5 year, $100-million deal with the Nationals.

The deal will reportedly have an opt out clause after the first year, and a no trade clause.

Cespedes carried the Mets for a lot of the summer. He hit 19 homes and drove in 52 runs in the three months after his trade from Detroit.
