The New York Post is reporting that the Mets will fire pitching coach Dan Warthen after this terrible season comes to a merciful end on Sunday.
Warthen has been the Mets pitching coach since June 2008, when the team fired Rick Peterson and manager Willie Randolph in the middle of the night. He deserves credit for helping to develop the Mets young stud starters. However, most of them got injured on his watch, and he has to bear some of that responsibility.
“The Mets have mostly gotten lackluster returns from a pitching staff that has sky-high potential,” said My Top Sportsbooks.
