Report: Mets expected to part ways with pitching coach Dan Warthen

The Mets are expected to part ways with pitching coach Dan Warthen after this season, sources recently told NY Post beat reporter Mike Puma.

The Mets are also expected to part ways with manager Terry Collins, Puma reported on Tuesday.

The Mets hired Warthen during June, 2008, after Rick Peterson was let go as the team's pitching coach. Prior to joining the Mets, he had been a bullpen coach for the Dodgers, and a minor league instructor and pitching coach for the Tigers, Padres and Mariners.

According to Puma, the top candidates to replace Warthen are Mets bullpen coach Ricky Bones and minor league pitching coordinator Ron Romanick.
