David Wright, one of the New York Mets’ best players of the 21st century, will not be the new manager. According to a report from Mike Puma, the captain is not interested in the position.
The position is open because Carlos Beltran, who was appointed in November to be the Mets’ skipper, stepped down. The team and the former player itself informed that it would be best if he didn’t move forward as the manager.
Beltran participated in the 2017 Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal. The team illegally used the replay room to decode opposing team’s signs and relayed them by banging a trash can.
